The CFMOTO Upgraded Secondary Spring is a direct replacement for the stock CVTech secondary clutch spring, engineered to improve shift quality, backshift response, and overall clutch performance. The secondary spring controls how the driven (secondary) clutch opens and closes during acceleration and deceleration. Upgrading from the stock spring changes the clamp force on the belt, which directly affects shift points, engagement feel, and how quickly the clutch responds to throttle changes.

WHY YOU NEED IT

The stock secondary spring is designed for a broad range of average riding conditions. If you have upgraded tires, installed a Stingray Helix, added a primary clutch kit, or simply want better throttle response and smoother shifting, an upgraded secondary spring is the next step. This spring is recommended for use with the Stingray Helix for optimal shift calibration. When paired with an RNG Primary Clutch Kit and Stingray Helix, the upgraded secondary spring completes the clutch tuning package, giving you the best possible shift quality across the entire RPM range.

Common signs your secondary spring needs replacing include sluggish backshift when letting off the throttle, belt slipping under load, poor low-speed engagement, or a spring that has lost tension over time from heat and use.

Does NOT fit OmniDrive clutch systems (Gen 3 CForce, U10, UForce 800 XL, Z10).

Two sizes are available: one for 400/500/600cc engines and one for 800/950/1000cc engines. Select your engine size when ordering.

INSTALLATION

Difficulty: Intermediate. Requires a Secondary Spring Compressor Tool and a Secondary Spreader Tool (both available separately). The spring must be compressed to install or remove the helix. Installation videos are available on our website.
